Nahargarh Fort was built in 1734 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, founder of Jaipur, on the Aravalli hills. The fort was constructed as a place of retreat on the summit of the ridge overlooking the city of Jaipur in the Indian state of Rajasthan.
